I wanted to send a message to all our KDA Members today to offer support during the current health crisis. This is a tough time for our BIA and businesses. We continue to be committed to marketing our area and supporting businesses.

We will be making the necessary changes in our own office to support our staff and volunteers. We commit to providing as much information as we can to our members to find the resources to operate during this difficult time.  For your convenience our web site has been updated to include a COVID-19 resource area for everyone.

As a proactive measure we will cancel all Kingsway District Associations events until further notice.

These events include:

  • Committee Meetings
  • Crime and Homelessness Meeting
  • Coffee with Cops events
  • Lunch and Learn – April 29th
  • Community Resource Fair / Multi-Business Mixer – May 7th

Additional Changes to Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy

Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA)

We intend to introduce the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) program for small businesses that, will seek to provide loans and/or forgivable loans to commercial property owners who in turn will lower or forgo the rent of small businesses for the months of April (retroactive), May, and June.

Implementation of the program will require a partnership with provincial and territorial governments who are responsible for property owner-tenant relationships.
